The Training Unit is responsible for providing members of the VPD with the highest level of training and skills to provide professional and consistent law enforcement services.

 The Training Unit organizes, plans, and maintains records of all in-service training as well as career development training courses for the VPD.

 This unit plays a pivotal role in maintaining officer certifications and adherence to Florida Accreditation Standards.

The Training Unit works in collaboration with Police Officer Instructors and subject matter experts to train and develop the skills and practices of the VPD.
