CONTEST STATUS: CLOSED The final City of Venice Centennial Logo will unveiled during the first Centennial Public Workshop on Oct. 16 at City Hall.
Online Voting Status: CLOSED Online voting was open to the public Sept. 4 until 10 p.m. Sept. 18. The three designs with the most votes will be presented to City Council on Oct. 8 for their final vote and adoption of one logo.
Submission Status: CLOSED Submissions were accepted 8:30 a.m. July 15 to 5 p.m., Sept. 2, no late submissions are accepted. This contest is open to the public and City of Venice employees.
About the Contest: To build excitement and anticipation around the upcoming City Centennial, community members were invited to create their own Centennial logo design based off their own research ad historical interpretation. The City of Venice Centennial will be celebrated with the official dates of 1926 to 2026. More than 25 entries were submitted and then narrow down to 10 designs by the Centennial team for online voting. Voting was IP and browser restricted and participants could select up to three of their favorite designs. 3,058 total votes were submitted. The three designs with the most motes will be presented to City Council for their review and final adoption.
The City of Venice is not offering financial compensation. The winning artist will be featured on the City of Venice webpage, on City social media and included in news media pitches and communications.
The City of Venice Centennial logo is a specific design to commemorate and chronicle this major government milestone. The centennial logo will be featured throughout the downtown area, at City facilities and on all City-sponsored printed and digital promotional and marketing materials. The City will also allow community partners to use or display the logo if the request falls within the City’s partnership guidelines.
The City of Venice assumes no responsibility for submissions. The winning selected design may be used on a non-exclusive basis. The City retains the right to use the winning design in/on any advertising and/or promotion it deems suitable, including its social media platforms and website. The City may make minor modifications to the winning design such as color, size and transparency. City staff reserve the right to reject any submissions. The City does not retain the rights to use or recreate designs that were submitted and not considered.
