About the City of Venice Holiday Parade
Kicking off the holiday season for over 45 years, the City of Venice Holiday Parade is always the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The 2024 parade is Saturday, Nov. 30 beginning at 6:30 p.m.
City of Venice Holiday Parade route stretches approximately one mile and is viewable from Venice and Nokomis avenues. With pre-parade activities and nearly 100 different floats the City of Venice Holiday Parade is fun for the whole family. Drinks and goodies are offered for sale by high school booster clubs, Boy Scouts and local nonprofit service groups along the parade route.
Tens of thousands of spectators line the parade route early to find and secure their perfect spot to enjoy the festivities.
NOTE: The City prohibits the throwing of candy and trinkets to spectators from floats for everyone's safety. These items may be walked to/hand delivered from parade participants to spectators.
Early chair setup may begin along the parade route after 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27 at your own risk.
- No bleachers, couches, recliners, roped-off areas, stakes, tarps, canopies or mats; these items will be removed by Public Works and Code Enforcement.
- No chairs set up or spectators allowed in the center medians in the 100-300 blocks of W. Venice Avenue. Parade-goers are asked to adhere to posted signage.
Any chairs placed before 6 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 27 will be disposed of by Public Works and Code Enforcement as abandoned property.
Note: The City of Venice is not responsible for your items or property. Early chair set-up is a City Council Policy that was adopted in 2012.
Parade officially begins at 6:30 p.m. from the corner of W. Venice Avenue and Ave Des Parques heading east.
- The official start point of the parade is the intersection of W. Venice Avenue and Ave. Des Parques.
