Adopt-a-Park Program
Public Works launched an Adopt-a-Park Program for City parks in October 2018.
This program is for interested citizen groups, schools and businesses to assist the City in beautifying its parks by volunteering to pick up trash and litter, cleaning various park amenities and performing other minor maintenance tasks. Interested participants would need to commit their services at the selected park a minimum of four times a year, beginning after Jan. 1, 2019. The City shall provide a 12”x18” sign in the selected park to recognize the participating group or business.
For a application package, please contact Tricia Matero at 941-882-7362. Please send completed applications by email to PMatero@Venicegov.com, or hard copy to the attention of Tricia Matero, City of Venice Public Works Department, 1350 Ridgewood Avenue, Venice, FL 34292. Adopt-a-Road Program
Keep Sarasota County Beautiful (KSCB) has partnered with the City of Venice to add three additional Venice roadway segments to the Adopt-a-Road Program. The new Venice area roadways segments which are available for adoption are as follows:
· Nokomis Avenue North and South
· Barcelona Avenue, The Esplanade and Tarpon Center Drive
· Lucaya Avenue and Ridgewood Avenue
This innovative program provides private citizens, businesses and organizations an opportunity to support the countywide anti-litter campaign. It provides a way to offer an inexpensive project that gives residents the satisfaction of making a contribution to their communities and can help generate publicity for a group's service activities. Adopted areas are maintained as part of a joint effort to keep our environment clean and healthy. Participation in the program is free. Please feel free to contact the KSCB office at keepsarasotacountybeautiful@scgov.net or by calling 941-861-5000 for any interest in adopting these road segments.
