The City of Venice is home to more than 35 annual large-scale events organized by local groups and non-profits. These include the Sharks Tooth Festival, Blues Festival, Italian Feast, Holiday Parade, and more, taking place at venues like the Venice Municipal Festival Grounds, Centennial Park, West Blalock Park, Venice Avenue, and Harbor Drive. Plus, local musicians, artists, and organizations host smaller free concerts and movie nights at Centennial and West Blalock parks.


Signature City Events

The City of Venice hosts four free signature events throughout the year:

 APRIL  City of Venice PUBLIC SAFETY DAY
Meet public safety personnel from Venice Fire Rescue, Venice Police Department and City Hall to learn about police and to fire apparatus, equipment, responses, and services. Family-friendly with activities and presentations.
   
MAY  City of Venice HURRICANE EXPO 
  Learn how to build your disaster kit and create a disaster preparedness plan, how to look up your Flood Zone and Evacuation Level, meet with City and County emergency response staff, and hear from local organizations.
   
 JULY City of Venice JULY 4TH FIREWORKS 
  Enjoy a free fireworks display on Independence Day! Launched from the South Jetty at Humphris Park, fireworks are visible from Venice area beaches, North Jetty Park and Snake Island. Humphris Park remains closed during the display.
   
NOV City of Venice HOLIDAY PARADE
  Always the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the city’s Holiday Parade features prep-parade activities for the whole family, more than 90 floats from local organizations and community groups, and is viewable from Venice and Nokomis Avenues.

Venice Famers Market 

The Venice Farmers Market has been serving the Venice community for more than 25 years.

Market Times/Dates:

8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday throughout the year.

     
Market Location:

400 block of W. Venice Avenue, next to City Hall between Harbor Drive and Avenue Des Parques.

     
Market Operators:

Morgan Bettes Angell and Antonio Hernandez with Independent Jones began operating the Venice Farmers Market in 2021.

     
Market Vendors:

With over 100 vendors from produce, breads and jams to clothing, jewelry and art, the market has something for everyone. See the full vendor list and map here.

Looking to host an event? 

General park use, small wedding ceremonies, concerts, movie nights, proposals, family and friend gatherings and small events may be requested online through the Park Reservation system, at the discretion of the City Manager's Office. 

Large festivals, concerts, walks/runs, events serving alcohol, selling food or merchandise, or events requiring road closures must apply for a Special Event permit at least 120 days before the event date. Learn more about Special Event permitting here
