Field inspections are performed to ensure that work covered by the permit is done in accordance with the approved plans and specifications and is in compliance with all state building codes and city ordinances.

The owner or licensed contractor doing the work authorized by the permit will need to schedule the required inspections when the work is ready and as work progresses. Be sure that no portion of the building, structure, wiring, plumbing, ductwork or equipment, which is required to be inspected, is covered or concealed without approved inspections.

VuSpex: Virtual Inspections
The City of Venice Building Department now offers VuSpex, a virtual building inspection tool that provides inspection services to contractors remotely with the use of any electronic device. With Vuspex, inspectors can thoroughly perform virtual inspections from any location, saving the contractor both time and money.

How Do I Schedule a VuSpex: Virtual or Field Report Inspection?
You do not need to download an app to schedule and perform a virtual inspection. Simply login to your Contractors dashboard on the eTRAKiT website, choose the permit number and schedule the inspection as usual. From the "Time" drop-down menu choose "Virtual" and in the notes section provide your anticipated time frame(s). You will receive a text message invite near the scheduled time. To perform a field report inspection, you will need to download the VuSpex GO App from the App Store or Google Play. Then, follow the instructions in the Vuspex Field Report User Guide.

PLEASE NOTE: Now Mandatory - All Re-roof and Window/Door Buck inspections must be scheduled and performed using the VuspexGO offline field report.
