Mission:

To provide efficient, accountable, and responsive building permit processing and enforce regulations governing buildings and unsafe structures while responding to the building industry and protecting citizens; and, provide uniformity and consistency in the interpretation and enforcement of the Florida Building Codes.

The department strives to facilitate effective solutions for promoting the safety, health and welfare of the public and administers all code enforcement issues as related to violations of the City of Venice code of ordinances.
