UPDATE 10/6: Be advised, the Hurricane Helene Resident Recovery Meeting, planned for Monday, Oct. 7 at 3 p.m. at the Venice Community Center has been canceled and will be rescheduled after Tropical Storm Milton has exited our area. The City of Venice is closely monitoring TS Milton, which is currently forecast to strengthen into a major hurricane and impact our region on Tuesday night into Wednesday. It is important that City residents and City staff focus on their storm preparation efforts on Monday, and the Resident Recovery Meeting will be rescheduled once conditions return to normal.
The City of Venice will hold a Hurricane Helene Resident Recovery Meeting at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7 at the Venice Community Center, 326 Nokomis Ave. S.
This meeting is for City residents who were impacted by Helene, including those who live along Tarpon Center Drive, Golden Beach, Harbor Lights and Venice Bay Adult Park.
The meeting will include information about what occurred locally before, during and after the storm; debris pickup; the permitting process for repairs to affected properties; and recovery resources. Staff from the City Manager’s Office, Building, Engineering/Stormwater, Police and Fire Rescue will be on hand.
There will be an opportunity for Q&A and handouts available.
