On Friday, Jan. 19, Venice will recognize Florida Arbor Day at West Blalock Park from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Planned activities include:

• Walking tours of the Monty Andrews Arboretum at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
• Tree giveaway
• Planting demonstration at 9:30 a.m.
• Pruning demonstration at 10 a.m.
• Composting demonstrations
• Rain barrel display
• Q&A with the City Arborist and a Senior Forester with the Florida Forest Service.

There is no charge; all are welcome.

West Blalock Park is located at 401 Pensacola Rd. at Nassau St., across from the Venice Museum.
