Veterans Day ceremonies will be held by American Legion NO-VEL Post 159 at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11 at Patriots Park in Venice.

The event will begin with a Parade of Colors for all branches of the service. Guest speakers will include Gordon Shervin of the VFW and retired Col. Norman MacLellan. 

American Legion Commander Don MacLean will give opening remarks, and Venice Mayor Nick Pachota will present a proclamation. The event also will include a Salute to Veterans by Henry Arent and a Salute to Armed Forces by the Sun Coast Wind Ensemble.

There will also be a rifle salute and taps played by Phil Groebe.

All are invited; bring chairs.
