Mid-Century Modern Architecture Lecture

The City of Venice Historic and Architectural Preservation Board (HAPB) is pleased to announce its first educational outreach program for the public.

On Thursday, April 6 at 5 p.m., Christopher Wilson will give a presentation at a specially scheduled public workshop in Council Chambers at City Hall, 401 W. Venice Ave. Dr. Wilson is the Architecture Sarasota Scholar in Residence and a locally renowned architectural historian.

Beyond Mediterranean Revival and even beyond the ranch, Mid-Century Modern Architecture, and its subset the Sarasota School of Architecture, has had a lasting impression on Venice. Projects by Victor Lundy, Paul Rudolph and Ralph Twitchell here in Venice have received national acclaim. Come learn about this other architectural style that makes Venice famous.

This program is free and open to the public.
