The American Legion NO-VEL Post 159 will once again host the annual Memorial Day Ceremony in Venice at 10 a.m. Monday, May 30 at Patriots Park. Participating organizations include VFW Post 8118, Marine Corps League Det. 643, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 101, and the Venice Police Department.

There will be a parade of colors with combined color guards, patriotic music, guest speakers including Venice Vice Mayor Nick Pachota and Sarasota County Commissioner Nancy Detert, a laying of wreaths, rifle salute and memorial taps.

The public is encouraged to attend and bring chairs.
