Sarasota County and the City of Venice will host a household hazardous waste collection event Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022 from 8 a.m. to noon at South Brohard Park, 1900 S. Harbor Dr., Venice. This event is for Sarasota County and the City of Venice residents only. Proof of residency may be requested.

Items accepted: adhesives/glues, aerosols, antifreeze, automotive products, cleaners, electronics, fertilizers, fluorescent lamps, gasoline, household fire extinguishers, mercury, motor oil, oil filters, paint, pesticides, pool chemicals, propane cylinders, rechargeable batteries, solvents and thinners, vehicle batteries

Items not accepted: tires, ammunition, containers larger than 5 gallons, fireworks/flares, meds, sharps, radioactive materials

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:

• Place materials in vehicle trunk.
• Remain in vehicle.
• Staff will unload materials.
• No walk-ups accepted.

No commercial or other organizational waste will be accepted.
