18th annual Venice Shark's Tooth Fishing Tournament sponsored by the Venice Police Department at Marine Max of Venice
40 Special Olympians will join local boat captains for a day of fun and fishing. This event kicks off before the annual Shark's Tooth Festival that benefits Special Olympics. 30 local boat captains have donated their time and vessels to make this a very special and memorable event for the athletes.
Thursday, April 2nd
7 a.m. – Boat Captains Check-In
8 a.m. – Athletes Arrive
8:45 a.m. – Depart from Marina at 8:45
12:45 p.m. – Lunch at Marine Max (to include giveaways to boat captains and athletes)
On Saturday, April 4 at 11 a.m., during the Shark's Tooth Festival, the Venice Police Marine Unit and Police Chief Mattmuller will conduct the awards ceremony for all the athletes who participated in the fishing tournament. Each athlete receives a plaque and goodie bag for participating.
