On Feb. 19, the topic is "Calusa Legacy" with presenter Cindy Bear.
Bear, Coordinator of Program & Services, Randell Research Center, Pine Island, Fla., has a BA in wildlife ecology and MS in science education. She coordinates all land management and preservation activities, teaches, helps researchers (including archaeologists), while coordinating group tours and volunteer activities. Bear will provide an overview of the Calusa civilization and include information on the methods archaeologists and historians have used to piece together the Calusa.
