On Jan. 15 the topic is "Our Local Treasures: Warm Mineral Springs and Little Salt Spring" with presenter Steve Koski.
Koski, an archaeologist with the Sarasota County Department of Historical Resources, specializes in “underwater prehistoric sites.” He received BA in anthropology/archaeology from UMass & MA from Arizona State. He worked as assistant underwater archaeologist at Warm Mineral Springs and is the former Research Associate at Little Salt Spring for University of Miami and continues to serve as site manager there. Steve will explain findings from both springs dealing with a time period between 6000-13,000 years before present.
