Besides being a special treat for the locals, the Sun Fiesta welcomes home the snowbirds – and in Venice that is a pretty big flock. The celebration normally draws up to 40,000 attendees annually. Now in its 45th year, the celebration is the biggest fundraiser for the Women’s Sertoma Club of Venice which raises funds for charities and scholarships. The location has been moved this year to the Venice Airport Festival Grounds rather than Centennial Park due to construction issues. Also new this year is a 7:30 a.m. Sunday 5K race followed by a pancake breakfast. Perennial favorites like the Miss Sun Fiesta Pageant, the bed races, the dunk tank and the parade will return this year. Food, clothing and merchandise vendors, beer and wine tents, live entertainment, and a kid’s area complete the event.

Bed Races begin at 9:30 on Saturday morning
Miss Sun Fiesta Contest that begins at 12:30 p.m.
