Lecture Series: Southwest Florida's Native Americans

Part of the Betty Intagliata Lecture Series presented by the Venice Area Historical Society.

All programs are free and open to the public.

On March 26, the topic is "The Seminole Wars" with presenters John and Mary Lou Missall.

The Missalls are historians and award-winning authors who specialize in the Seminole Wars. Other books they have written are: Elizabeth’s War: A Novel of the First Seminole War; Hollow Victory: A Novel of the Second Seminole War; and in 2018 History of the Third Seminole War, 1849-1858, co-authored with Dr. Joe Knetsch. The Missalls will present a comprehensive overview of all three Seminole Wars and the political, social, and economic forces that drove them.
