Venice Fire Department provides free home fire prevention surveys

According to the National Fire Protection Agency an average 357,000 residential home fires burn every year. These fires cause more than 2,470 deaths, and more than 12,890 injuries. That’s an average of seven people per day killed by fires in their homes.

To help prevent this from happening in Venice, the Venice Fire Department offers free home fire safety surveys. Once scheduled, members of the fire department will perform a safety check and provide helpful safety tips. To schedule a home safety check, contact the department at (941) 480-3030. The home fire survey is one component of a larger community outreach program. To learn about other free services, call the Venice Fire Department.
