Contractor Registration

Every person, company or entity desiring to engage in the business as a general, building, residential, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, air conditioning, roofing, commercial pool or residential pool contractor, or as a specialty contractor, within the city, must first obtain a contractor registration from the building department.

Staff is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The customer service counter is located at the Building Department at City Hall, 401 W. Venice Avenue.

Owners, make sure your contractors are licensed. See the Owner Builder Permit brochure and visit the Department of Business and Professional Regulations to verify a license. Or, you can confirm an active status by viewing the City's 'Active Contractors' list.
