Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals (CBAA)

The Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals (CBAA) reviews complaints brought against contractors who purposely violate codes and laws. The board also has the power to hear appeals of decisions and interpretations of the building official, consider variances of the technical codes, conduct hearings regarding certificates of competency, licenses, discipline and such other powers as authorized in the city code or state law.

A contractor believed to be in violation may also be required to appear before the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulations.

Staff is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The customer service counter is located at the Building Department at City Hall, 401 W. Venice Avenue.
